Ole Henriksen Balance Review

This post is a review on the new Ole Henriksen Balance skincare line. This new line features their "Green Fusion Complex" and AHA's to combat oily skin and acne and blemishes. I was super skeptical of trying this out at first because my skin usually ranges from normal to dry and is not oily or blemish prone (unless its that time of the month...). I was scared that it would dry out my skin even more and have leave that really tight feeling afterwards. Disclaimer: I was sent this box from Influenster for free! Then that time of the month came around a I got a HUGE pimple on my nose and my new nickname was Rudolph... so I decided to try it out. My mind was instantly changed and I fell in love!! These products do not dry out your skin at all, it leaves my face feeling fresh, moisturized and smooth! All the products also leave a tingly minty feeling that I love as well.

Find your Balance Oil Control Cleanser:

This has become my new favorite cleanser and I use it every morning and night! It foams and lathers quite a lot. It also works really nicely with the clarisonic and I'll use those together at night. It leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth and moisturized. I really hate other cleansers that give a too squeaky clean feeling and your face is all tight and dry feeling afterwards. This cleanser is the exact opposite of what I expected!

contains the "Green Fusion Complex" & AHA's & Need seed oil.

Balancing Force Oil Control Toner:

This toner is super nice and refreshing, it feels like my pores are getting cleaned out and closed up when I use it. It is a really great product, but personally, I just prefer the spray on toners, or just using my hands and patting on my face. I feel like I have to use this type of toner with a cotton pad to get the maximum benefits, which I'm not very fond of because 1. It creates extra waste and 2. It feels like i'm throwing away money for these little pads of cotton.

contains "Green Fusion Complex" & BHA & AHA's & Need seed oil.

Counter Balance Oil Control Hydrator:

This moisturizer is amazingggg! And it claims to make your foundation/makeup stay on longer throughout the day (8 hours to be exact). It goes on smooth and mattifying, with a great finish that looks really natural, and my skin still feels ultra hydrated. I do use a serum underneath as well since that is part of my normal skincare routine. The only qualm I have about this product is I wish it contained some spf since I use it in the daytime and don't want to put another spf on top of it since I just want my foundation to be on top so it lasts longer. Also, I find most spf's are still a little bit greasy and it is hard to find one that has a nice finish.

contains "Green Fusion Complex" & AHA's & Need seed oil & Rosehip fruit Extract.

For the ingredients, this is from the Ole Henriksen website:

"Green Fusion Complex™–this proprietary blend of potent active botanicals—including green tea, eucalyptus, algae (kelp) and Irish moss extracts—with natural antiseptic properties helps absorb excess oil and refine pores"
"Salicylic (BHA) + glycolic & lactic acids (AHAs)–help lift and loosen dead skin cells that clog pores"
Tip: use sunscreen when using any products that contain BHA and AHAs because they increase sun sensitivity.

Some research online I did on my own for the other ingredients in these products:

Neem Seed Oil: natural antiseptic, antibacterial, anti inflammatory. Relieves redness in the skin, itching, irritation, lightens scars and pigmentation, soothes dry/cracked skin, and helps with acne and eczema. It contains natural antioxidants to smooth wrinkles and improve elasticity.
Rosehip fruit oil: replenishes moisture and prevents dehydration. Helps to treat eczema, breakouts, scars, fine lines, and discoloration. Also helps in regenerating skin cells.
The ingredients also list eucalyptus and peppermint, which is where the scent and refreshing tingling sensation comes from!
